The Association of Ohio Long Rifle Collectors

 

The Association of Ohio Long Rifle Collectors was formed in February 1978, at Marietta, Ohio.  Since then the organization has grown and now has approximately 240 members in at least fifteen different states in the Union.  The Association charter reads in part:  “To promote the continuing study of the Ohio made muzzleloading rifle by bringing collectors and interested people closer together; to perpetuate the history of the Ohio made muzzleloading rifle through historical research and the preservation and restoration of the said rifle; to educate the public to the significance and importance of the rifle to the growth and development of the Northwest Territory, particularly through exhibits and publications; to do any and all things of every kind and nature whatsoever, which may be useful, convenient, or possible to do in connection with, as part of, incidental to, or supplemental to, any of the above enumerated purposes”.
